Ted Bundy - Serial Killer




   Theodore Robert Bundy was a serial killer, known for his kidnappings, rapes, burglaries, and necrophily. He assaulted and killed many young women and girls during the '70s.
   Bundy was seen as a handsome and charismatic young man by a large number of his female victims, traits he exploited to gain their trust. He usually approached them in public , accusing an injury or disability, or impersonating an police officer, before snatching and assaulting them at a more secluded location. He often revisited his secondary crime scene for hours at a time, grooming and having sex with the decomposing corpses until they were too rotten or eaten by wild animals, that made further interaction impossible. He decapitated no less then 12 of his victims, and kept some severed heads in his house for a short time as mementos. On some occasions, he just broke into dwellings in the middle of the night  and bludgeoned his unaware victims as they were sleeping.
Initially incarcerated in Utah in 1975 for aggravated kidnaping and attempted criminal assault, Bundy became a suspect in a increasingly longer list of unresolved homicides in multiple states. Facing murder charges in Colorado, he managed 2 dramatic escapes and committed more assaults, as well as 3 murders, before his final recapture in Florida in 1978. He received 3 death sentences in 2 separate trials for the Florida homicides.
